EduPunks

A DYI approach to teaching and learning practices

Whoop! Whoop! This is my first attempt at making my own Ning! I belong to a few (including two for our school and one that I help manage) but this is the first one I have made from scratch! I am excited about expanding my PLN. Speaking of expanding PLN.... how does everyone keep track of resources and the people in the PLN? I find that I get so much great info and meet a lot of helpful people that I often lose track of all these helpful things. I have been using diigo to keep track of links and resources, but I am wondering if anyone has other suggestions?

Good question! I too use Diigo to track all my on-line networks. I created an email group of people who I frequently ask questions to about school. That has helped me track who I ask. I name the group name based on subject, like Smartboard Users or History Buffs. But that is my extent of tracking people. My PLN is not that large. I have a pretty small group of people who I trust and like to learn from.

Hey Megaen,

My first Ning too! When I wrote this week's essay on PLNs, I immediately went to my Diigo, which I use to track especially helpful people and sites. Your question is a good one though, as I can see organizational problems on my part, Gina's idea is a good one - putting e-mail groups together. Hopefully this course will also help us with getting our PLNs together.
